OnePlus has started the Open Beta testing phase of OxygenOS 16 for select smartphones in India, giving users early access before the official release scheduled for October 16. The beta version is now live for OnePlus 13, 13s, 13R, 12, 12R, and the foldable OnePlus Open.
The program allows participants to explore new system features, test performance, and share direct feedback with the company before the stable version is released. According to OnePlus, the OxygenOS 16 build focuses on improving system efficiency, interface speed, and response time. Since it is a beta version, users may experience minor glitches, incomplete features, or short-term bugs.
Currently, the beta rollout is limited to Indian users, with other regions expected to receive it in later phases. Registration for the program is open from October 9 to October 13. Interested users can apply by navigating to Settings → About device → Up to date → Beta program and following on-screen steps. Once approved, the update will be delivered over the air.
Eligible firmware builds:
* OnePlus 13 / 13s: CPH2723_15.0.2.601(EX01)

OnePlus recommends users back up their important files before installing the update. Devices should have at least 30 percent battery and 4 GB of free storage to ensure smooth installation. Some third-party apps may temporarily malfunction until updated. Minor issues such as heating, battery drain, or lag may occur initially as the system stabilizes.
