OnePlus recently introduced the Pad 3 in both global and Indian markets. The device enters the scene with hardware tailored for productivity, positioning itself as a capable alternative to laptops and large-screen entertainment tablets.

The OnePlus Pad 3 features a 13.2-inch LCD screen with a 3.4K resolution and a 7:5 aspect ratio. This layout supports both viewing and multitasking experiences akin to premium productivity-focused tablets. While the panel is not OLED, its brightness and accurate color profile provide an above-average visual experience.

Weighing 675 grams and measuring only 5.97mm thick, the Pad 3 combines portability with durability. The tablet runs on OxygenOS, a skin over Android 15, optimized for larger screens. Internally, it is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The base model offers 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, while an advanced version includes 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Performance is one of the Pad 3’s strongest aspects. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the tablet handles resource-heavy tasks and multitasking with minimal lag. From creative workloads to media consumption, it consistently delivers fast and smooth output. It also remains cool during prolonged usage, indicating effective thermal management.

The screen’s high resolution enhances video playback and document handling, making it suitable for both work and leisure. With DCI-P3 color support and ample brightness, outdoor visibility is satisfactory. The device includes an 8-speaker setup, offering immersive audio that is clear and loud, though lacking in bass and vocal depth.

Battery life exceeds expectations. In real-world usage, it lasts over two days on a single charge. Benchmarks like PCMark place battery endurance between 22 to 24 hours, with around 20 per cent charge remaining. The 80W fast charger included with the device recharges it fully in just over an hour.

While the Pad 3 scores well in key areas, there are limitations. There is no fingerprint sensor or IP rating, and the tablet only supports Wi-Fi connectivity. Additionally, the 8MP rear camera performs adequately in good lighting but underwhelms in low-light conditions.

The optional Smart Keyboard accessory supports laptop-like usage. Its keys are responsive and its trackpad performs well. However, the attachment system feels unstable due to its two-piece design, potentially affecting user experience during mobile use.

Though the Indian price has not been officially disclosed, the global pricing of EUR 599 suggests a competitive launch in India, potentially undercutting rivals like the Galaxy Tab and iPad Air. With high-end internals and reliable productivity tools, the Pad 3 could emerge as a top Android tablet option in India.
