OnePlus Nord CE 5 receives BIS certification, India launch expected soon — Key specs, price, and what to expect

OnePlus is gearing up to make May exciting for Indian smartphone users. While the company has already confirmed the upcoming launch of the OnePlus 13s — expected to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus 13T from China — another new model is quietly making headlines.
The OnePlus Nord CE 5 has now received BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification with the model number CPH2717, signaling its imminent launch in India.
What to expect from the OnePlus Nord CE 5:
According to a report from Smartprix, the Nord CE 5 will feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. As it's an OLED panel, an in-display fingerprint sensor is expected.
On the design front, OnePlus might make minor tweaks to its vertical camera module — giving it an aesthetic similar to Apple’s latest iPhone 16 lineup. However, in a surprising move, the Nord CE 5 may feature only a single speaker, a downgrade from its predecessor and a trend also seen in recent phones like the Nothing CMF Phone 2 Pro and iQOO Z10.
Under the hood, the phone is likely to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset — the same processor seen in the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. The device is expected to house a dual rear camera system: a 50MP main sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens.
One of the most talked-about features is the massive 7,100mAh battery — the largest ever on a OnePlus phone. Fast charging is expected with support for 80W wired charging.
Expected price and launch timeline:
The OnePlus Nord CE 5 is rumored to launch in India this month and is expected to be priced below ₹25,000 — aligning with the Nord CE 4’s starting price of ₹24,999.
With a strong spec sheet, refreshed design, and aggressive pricing, the Nord CE 5 could be a solid contender in the mid-range smartphone segment in India.
