OnePlus is all set to unveil its upcoming smartphone, the OnePlus 15R, in India on December 17, the same day when the Pad Go 2 will be launched. The company, which has recently come out with the OnePlus 15, has already disclosed some of the main features of the 15R, which suggests that the new phone will have significant improvements in both battery and performance.
The OnePlus 15R smartphone that is to be released in the near future is going to be powered by the OxygenOS 16 operating system, which is an Android 16 base, and will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, making it the first phone in the world to have this chip. It is said by the industry insiders that it could be a renamed version of the OnePlus Ace 6T that was just released in China.
If the rebranding is true, then the OnePlus 15R will have a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 165Hz. The device is likely to have a new camera setup that will be inspired by the OnePlus 15 and will have a dual camera consisting of 50MP Sony IMX906 main sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens.
Camera specifications include 4K video recording at 120fps, a feature that was earlier reserved for the topmost devices only, thus giving users more techniques to create videos. OnePlus has verified that the 15R will be equipped with a 7,400mAh battery which is slightly bigger than the battery in the regular OnePlus 15. The battery is designed to last for about four years and still hold 80% of its capacity and it also has an 80W wired fast charging support.
In terms of enduring qualities, the gadget is presumed to come with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, thereby making it more resistant to dirt and water. On the other hand, the alert slider has been eliminated and replaced by a “Plus” key just like in some of the recent OnePlus models.
The price of the OnePlus 15R in India is anticipated to be approximately Rs 45,000, and an official confirmation is likely to be given nearer to the launch. The gadget will be available on Amazon as part of its first lineup along with the Pad Go 2.
