On December 17, 2025, OnePlus will announce its next smartphone, the OnePlus 15R, in India, together with the OnePlus Pad Go 2. Early leaks point out that the starting price could be approximately Rs. 45,000, which is a bit more than what the previous model was priced at.
OnePlus 15R is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, thus providing a performance that is almost at a flagship level. The RAM and storage configurations have not been announced yet, but the new processor is a good indicator of excellent multitasking and gaming.
One major improvement is a 7.400 mAh battery, which is also the largest ever used in a OnePlus smartphone. Users would not have to worry about frequent charging as the device would last longer. It is rumored that the smartphone would support 80 W fast wired charging, making it easy to quickly charge the battery.
According to reports, the phone will have a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 165 Hz refresh rate. The display is expected to provide 1,800 nits peak brightness for outdoor use and to go down to 1 nit for night-time usage. Eye-comfort certification may also be provided, as it is aimed at reducing the strain on the eyes during long usage.
As for the camera, the OnePlus 15R is rumored to have a dual-camera setup at the back consisting of a 50 MP primary sensor and an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor. Moreover, it is predicted to be capable of 4K video recording at 120 fps, a function that was only available to premium models earlier and now offers smoother video recording.
With respect to its design, the OnePlus 15R might feature a flat-edged body with color choices like Black and a new Green. There are initial reports suggesting possible IP66/IP68 dust and water resistance which would thus make the device able to endure daily scratches and exposure to different weather conditions.
The OnePlus 15R launch is going to be an important milestone in the company's plan to offer high-end features at a slightly high price in the Indian market slowly but surely.
