OnePlus has made the decision to push the OnePlus 15R as the next more affordable smartphone after the flagship OnePlus 15. The device that is supposed to be a rebranded OnePlus Ace 6T from China will likely provide strong performance along with increased battery size.
The OnePlus 15R design is expected to feature flat edges and a camera square similar to the OnePlus 15. Industry insiders say that the phone will be in three colors—black, green, and violet. Camera features include the dual-lens setup with 50-megapixel main sensor and 8-megapixel ultrawide. The absence of the telephoto lens has been a consistent trait of the OnePlus 15R which was available in some earlier models.
Battery enhancements could feature prominently in the specification list of the device. The OnePlus 15R is rumored to be fitted with a large 8,000mAh battery that will surpass the 7,300mAh of the OnePlus 15. The setup of the charging would probably include 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging that would enable quick recharging even for the large battery.
The smartphone most probably would run Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 series of processors, and thus OnePlus would be one of the first few manufacturers to deploy the chip. The new platform would give performance quite comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Elite which was the flagship from last year. The screen could be a 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a very high 165Hz refresh rate ensuring smooth visuals and a very responsive touch experience.
The OnePlus 15R could come with several additional features, among which is the customizable “Plus” button that provides quick access to functions like camera, silent mode, or AI assistant controls. It is also believed that OnePlus 15R will have IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance certifications, as well as stereo speakers to improve the quality of sound output.
Some experts in the industry think that the OnePlus 15R could be introduce in India by the end of the year. No information on pricing has been provided, but the phone could be more expensive than the OnePlus 13R that was priced at Rs 42,999 at launch, indicating a possible upward adjustment in prices in line with the OnePlus 15’s pricing trend.
