OnePlus 15 Pre-Orders Begin: India Launch Rumored for Next Month

OnePlus has confirmed with certainty the release day of its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15. The firm revealed today through Weibo that the product will be launched in China on the 27th of October, 7 PM local time (4:30 PM IST).

Besides the flagship model, OnePlus will also present the Ace 6, a smartphone dedicated to performance that has only been out in the market as a teaser up till now. The two smartphones are already listed on OnePlus’ e-commerce platform in China, and pre-reservations are being accepted at the moment.

The event is still a few days away but over the past few weeks numerous leaks have already surfaced, giving us a sneak peek at what the OnePlus 15 will be about in terms of the display, battery, camera system, and other specifications.

Based on the first impressions of the company, OnePlus 15 will come with an OLED display of 6.7 inches in size, having a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 165Hz. The panel is done employing BOE’s third-generation Oriental screen technology and offers ultra-thin bezels of just 1.15mm. onePlus asserts that this display will not only the OnPlus 13 power by only 10 percent but also will offer a life span of 30 percent longer than the predecessor. The viewing experience will be greatly improved with HDR support and attaining high-end visual standards which are expected.

According to Weibo tipsters, the real-size display could be 6.78 inches, using the latest BOE’s X3 AMOLED panel with LTPO technology, which enables the refresh rate to switch automatically between 1Hz and 165Hz. Other features that might come along are Dolby Vision, Pro XDR and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits, which will put the OnePlus 15 right next to other high-end Android flagship phones. According to leaks, the smartphone is set to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The RAM will be LPDDR5X and it is expected that different memory configurations will be available ranging from 12GB to 16GB. The storage option might go as high as 1TB using UFS 4.1. OnePlus could incorporate Wind Chi Game Kernel 2.0, a system that is expected to boost gaming performance through optimizations.

The OnePlus 15 is thought to have three 50-megapixel cameras at the back. This will be the case since the second-generation Sony LYT-700 sensor will be used in the main camera, which is also giving optical image stabilization. This will be complemented by two Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensors for the ultrawide and telephoto cameras, where the latter will provide 3.5x optical zoom.

Leaks suggest a 7,300mAh battery, which is fairly big compared to the average flagship smartphone's battery. It will be a powerful battery that can accept 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. OnePlus is said to be using its third-generation glacier battery technology to increase the battery's lifespan and efficiency.

The phone is rumored to have an improved cooling system, dual speakers, a large vibration motor, an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor, multi-function NFC, IR blaster, and a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port. It seems that the OnePlus 15 and Ace 6 have been made pre-reserved on Oppo's e-Shop, JD Mall, and other Chinese platforms, with sales likely to follow shortly after the launch event.

OnePlus has not officially revealed the specific day for the Indian launch, yet rumors indicate the OnePlus 15 might land in the country during November 2025. Expect the release of the official information very soon.
