OnePlus 15 unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, redesigned camera island, and new DetailMax image engine.

OnePlus has officially unveiled its next flagship — the OnePlus 15 — at the recently concluded Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii. The smartphone will be the first in the world to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, setting a new benchmark for Android performance.
New Imaging System with DetailMax
For the first time, OnePlus is moving away from its Hasselblad partnership, introducing its in-house DetailMax image engine. According to the brand, this advanced system uses powerful processors and algorithms to deliver photos that are “breathtakingly clear and truly real.”
The camera design has also been refreshed. Instead of the circular camera island, the OnePlus 15 sports a vertically aligned triple-camera module, resembling the design of the recently launched OnePlus 13s.
Display and Software
The event confirmed that the device would have a 165Hz display, but it remains unclear if this specification will apply to the global model. Out of the box, the OnePlus 15 will run OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 and is expected to receive OS updates for five years, along with security update support for six years.
Battery and Charging
Some other rumors have speculated about a 7,300mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support. If this is true, it would make the OnePlus 15 one of the most power-packed smartphones out in the market.
Camera Setup
Speculations indicate that the phone will house a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
Expected Launch
The official release date is yet to be announced by OnePlus, setting the expectation to see the OnePlus 15 launch in China first, then worldwide.
Also present at the Snapdragon Summit, iQOO, Vivo, and Xiaomi have also confirmed their intent to launch smartphones with the Snapdragon 8 6 Gen 5.
