OnePlus 13s to launch with customisable ‘Plus Key’, replacing iconic alert slider

OnePlus has teased a new feature for its upcoming smartphone, the OnePlus 13s — a customisable button called the “Plus Key.” This marks a significant shift from the brand’s long-standing alert slider, which traditionally allowed users to switch between sound profiles. The new Plus Key aims to deliver a more versatile, user-programmable experience.
The Plus Key will enable users to assign a variety of functions based on their preferences. These include toggling sound modes, launching the camera, activating the flashlight, starting audio recordings, accessing translation features, and more. It offers a level of personalisation similar to the Action Button seen on recent iPhone models.
Earlier this year, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had confirmed plans to phase out the alert slider in favor of a more functional button, and the OnePlus 13s will be the first model to implement this change.
