Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang calls Google Gemini’s Nano Banana AI “so good,” as the viral image generator drives global social media trends.

Google Gemini’s latest image generator, Nano Banana (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image), has become the internet’s new obsession — powering viral trends like 3D figurines, retro saree portraits, and Polaroid-style edits. Now, the AI tool has received unexpected praise from none other than Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, whose company’s GPUs fuel much of the AI revolution.
Jensen Huang on Nano Banana
Speaking to WIRED, Huang expressed his admiration for Google’s creation.
“How could anyone not love Nano Banana? I mean, how good is that? Tell me it’s not true!”
He added that he had recently spoken with Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, about the model’s success:
“I was just talking to Demis yesterday and I said, ‘How about that Nano Banana! How good is that?’”
Why Nano Banana Stands Out
Launched late last month, the Nano Banana model has already generated over 300 million images, according to Google Labs VP Josh Woodward. Unlike many AI editors, it can make complex modifications to images while preserving facial details and subject consistency. This allows users to transform selfies into vintage portraits, postcards, or 3D figurines without losing realism.
Huang on AI’s Impact
Huang also reflected on how AI has reshaped his personal workflow:
“I use it every day — it’s improved my learning, my thinking. It helps me write, formulate ideas, and access knowledge more efficiently. My experience with AI is likely going to be everybody’s experience. How good is that?”
The Bigger Picture
While numerous AI tools exist, Google Gemini’s Nano Banana is winning over users thanks to its speed, coherence, and creativity, quickly becoming the go-to model for viral social media trends.
