The Nothing smartphone brand is likely to add a new budget-friendly model to its Phone 3 series. The company reportedly intends to introduce the Nothing Phone 3a Lite, which will take its place below the current Phone 3a.
There is not much information yet regarding the new device, although there are some early leaks that suggest it could come with an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option only. India is expected to get the black and white colour variants, but there could also be additional colours for the global markets.
Industry insider Sudhanshu Ambhore and reports by XpertPick state that the 3a Lite is going to be an attractive addition to the recently released Phone 3, so to speak. The phone is likely to be available in India and international markets this year as a part of Nothing’s mid-range expansion.
According to analysts, the 3a Lite is expected to be slightly more low-end than the standard Phone 3a in terms of hardware. Its design and features, however, will most likely maintain the current Nothing smartphone aesthetics.
To give you an idea, the Nothing Phone 3a, which came in March this year, has a 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED display with 1,080x2,392 pixels resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The display can reach a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits.
On the inside, the Phone 3a is powered by Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and can be combined with RAM of up to 12GB and storage of 256GB. The smartphone runs on Android 15-based NothingOS 3.1 and provides users with the assurance of three years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
Its camera specifications include a triple rear camera system with a 50MP Samsung main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP Sony telephoto camera. Meanwhile, a 32MP camera is responsible for taking selfies and making video calls in the front. In terms of Connectivity, the device offers 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC with Google Pay, and a USB Type-C port. The 5,000mAh battery is the source of power for the phone and it also supports 50W wired fast charging.
Nothing is under scrutiny by the industry watchers if the company will add more storage options or release new color variants for the 3a Lite in markets outside of India besides the one where it has already been launched.
