Consumer electronics company Nothing is preparing to showcase its most significant hardware lineup to date, with the global launch of the Nothing Phone 3 and its first over-ear headphones. The launch event is scheduled for July 1 at 10:30 PM IST and will be streamed live worldwide.
The Nothing Phone 3 is anticipated to mark a shift in the company's positioning, with reports indicating it will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. This upgrade would place it among devices offering flagship-level performance, surpassing the Snapdragon 778G that powered the Phone 2.
Industry sources suggest two variants will be introduced: one with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and a second with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The camera system may also see a substantial overhaul, including a periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom, in addition to a pair of 50-megapixel sensors for primary and ultra-wide photography. The front camera is likely to feature a 50-megapixel sensor with autofocus capability.
The handset may retain a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED screen, offering improved power efficiency. Battery capacity is expected to rise to 5,150mAh, with support for 100W wired charging. Leaked images hint at a revised design featuring a new rear layout and a "Glyph Matrix" LED system near the camera module, maintaining the brand's semi-transparent design language.
Additional changes might include eSIM functionality and updates to the proprietary Nothing OS, promising enhanced system responsiveness and visual performance.
The global price is speculated to be around $799. In India, it may range between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000. This positions the Phone 3 in direct competition with mid-premium devices such as the Pixel 9a and iPhone 16e. Company founder Carl Pei has indicated a strategy aimed at premium market segments.
Alongside the Phone 3, Nothing is also expected to launch the Headphone 1. Leaks describe a unique design with a rectangular silhouette inspired by vintage cassette players. The device may weigh approximately 329 grams and include 40mm drivers with support for adaptive noise cancellation up to 42dB.
The headphones may offer a 1,040mAh battery, delivering up to 80 hours of playback without ANC and 35 hours with ANC enabled. Reports also indicate a potential collaboration with British audio brand KEF, aimed at delivering high-fidelity audio.
Other features may include spatial sound support, an 8-band equaliser, adaptive bass, and compatibility with both Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. Additional specifications could involve physical control buttons, LED charging indicators, low-latency gaming mode, and integration with Google’s Find My Device.
The expected retail price in India is likely to remain under Rs 20,000.
