Nothing is gearing up to unveil the Nothing Phone 3 in India on July 1. The upcoming release comes almost two years after the debut of the Phone 2 and signals a notable shift in the company’s hardware and performance strategy.
Although full specifications remain under wraps, consistent leaks and official teasers have provided a broad picture. The third-generation model is likely to include hardware upgrades in camera, charging capabilities, and software while retaining the brand’s signature design identity.
Leaked benchmarks suggest the Phone 3 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a significant performance leap from the Snapdragon 778G used in the Phone 2. Despite not being the highest-end chip in Qualcomm’s lineup, the 8s Gen 4 belongs to its flagship category, offering smooth multitasking and gaming capabilities.
Two memory configurations are expected: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 16GB RAM paired with 512GB storage. The device is positioned to appeal to both casual and power users with these variants.
A major upgrade comes in the form of the camera system. The Phone 3 is tipped to feature a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom — a first for the brand. This lens will likely be complemented by a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide shooter, completing a triple-lens rear system.
The front camera is also expected to be upgraded from 32MP to 50MP, with possible autofocus support aimed at enhancing image clarity and video call quality.
The front panel may retain the 6.7-inch LTPO OLED screen, promising adaptive refresh rates for power efficiency. Battery capacity could increase to 5,150mAh, up from the 4,700mAh unit in the previous model. Leaks indicate 100W wired charging support, which would place the Phone 3 among the fastest-charging devices in its segment.
Nothing appears to be redesigning its signature Glyph interface. Rendered images show a revised back panel with asymmetrical light patterns and repositioned camera modules. Visible screws and sharper lines replace the rounded symmetry of earlier models. Black and off-white color options are expected.
The device will run on Nothing OS, offering a near-stock Android experience. Software improvements may focus on performance optimization, animation smoothness, and reduced bloatware.
Support for eSIM could also be introduced, a feature absent from the Phone 2, potentially allowing for improved carrier flexibility and international usability.
Global pricing is speculated to begin at $799, but Indian pricing will likely be more competitive. Analysts expect a starting range between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000. The previous model, Phone 2, launched at Rs 44,999, and Nothing is likely to keep pricing aggressive to compete with models from Pixel, iQOO, Poco, and Apple’s entry-tier devices.
The official announcement on July 1 will confirm these specifications and pricing details.
