Nintendo has already confirmed that a great year is waiting for gamers as it has planned several game launches for both Switch editions throughout 2026. The release list includes everything from the role-playing adventures and sports to great stories told through immersive games and all these in between, thus covering many different genres and experiences.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (January 15)
This time, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons brings the upgrade of stunning visuals of up to 4K resolution on Nintendo Switch 2. Players are able to redesign their houses, create their own designs and invite 11 friends to visit at the same time. Together with a free update which is available for both consoles, a resort hotel, extra storage and 3 new Slumber Islands will be incorporated.
FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE (January 22)
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade takes back to the story before the escape from Midgar mixing real-time action with strategic command-based combat. A demo has already been released, which gives early access to the revamped gameplay and graphics.
DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined (February 5)
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined takes the classic adventure to a new level with its modern mechanics, diorama-like visuals and a more concise story. The reimagined version will be available for both Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch, so players will have a chance to travel between the past and the present.
Mario Tennis Fever (February 12)
Mario Tennis Fever includes 38 characters that can be played and 30 types of unique Fever Rackets that have special powers. The new features of the gameplay like new slide moves and defense-oriented footwork are bringing the series’ competitive possibilities to a whole new level.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties (February 12)
Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties are offerings from SEGA that are made up of two games and started with a new enhanced story named Dark Ties players will be able to follow Kazuma Kiryu’s journey through the locations of Okinawa and Tokyo. Both titles will find their way to Nintendo Switch 2 and also to the Nintendo Switch.
Resident Evil Requiem (February 27)
Survival horror is back with the powerful storytelling and the action aspect of Resident Evil Requiem, the game is accompanied by a specially designed Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller for better immersion.
Pokémon Pokopia (March 5)
Pokémon Pokopia sets up an empty land that players have to turn it into a colorful paradise for the Pokémon. The players keep collecting the resources, growing crops, making the furniture, and building the houses for their Pokémon friends.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection (March 13)
In Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, extinction is the fate many species are facing. The players are on a quest with a loyal Rathalos to dig out the secrets and save the nature.
007 First Light (March 27)
007 First Light is a story about the early days of James Bond in MI6 who is just being trained. The plot gives a glimpse of how Bond as a rookie gradually becomes immersed on the dangerous side of being a spy with all its glamour.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (Autumn 2026)
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a game about a player who is in charge of a floating island community whose residents are Mii characters and player as the god who guides them through interactions, problems, relationships, etc.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park (Autumn 2026)
The new edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder has added new tasks to the Flower Kingdom like the new multiplayer games in Bellabel Park where players can choose whether to play with their friends or against them.
