Smartphone makers are preparing to introduce new models across price segments in August 2025, following a busy July led by Samsung and Nothing. Google is set to headline the month with the global release of its Pixel 10 series. Indian brands and China-based manufacturers will also bring devices with upgraded processors, cameras, and display technologies.
Google has announced the Pixel 10 series will launch globally, including in India, on August 20. This year’s lineup features four models — Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Each model will operate on the new Tensor G5 processor, developed by TSMC, offering improved energy management and computing power.
Specifications suggest the standard Pixel 10 includes a 6.3-inch OLED screen and a three-camera system: a 50MP main lens, a 13MP ultra-wide, and a 10.8MP telephoto sensor. Higher-end variants may introduce displays with larger diagonals and up to 16GB RAM. The foldable version is tipped to offer a 6.4-inch cover display and a larger internal battery than its predecessor.
Vivo will introduce the V60 in India on August 12. The device is expected to mirror China’s Vivo S30, sporting a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. A Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset is likely to power the phone, which may house a 6,500mAh battery supported by 90W fast charging.
The camera setup could consist of a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom. A 50MP front camera may also be included.
Ahead of the V60, Vivo will roll out the Y400 5G on August 4. It features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, water and dust resistance with IP68 and IP69 ratings, and a 50MP Sony IMX852 sensor. With Android 15-based FuntouchOS, the device includes AI-based features such as Transcript Assist and Notes Summary. A 6,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging is confirmed.
Oppo is likely to unveil two smartphones between August 11 and 14 under the K13 Turbo branding. Both the standard and Pro models may carry 6.8-inch AMOLED displays with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rates, and brightness reaching 1,600 nits.
While the K13 Turbo may run on the Dimensity 8450 chip, the Pro edition is expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. Both versions could offer a 50MP dual-camera array at the rear, a 16MP front-facing camera, and a 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging. ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 is likely to be pre-installed.
Domestic brand Lava is working on the launch of its Agni 4 handset. The phone is expected to skip the dual-screen design of the Agni 3 and adopt a single 6.78-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The internal hardware may include MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 chipset and UFS 4.0 storage.
The design, as seen in leaked images, suggests a flat-edge form factor with a dual-camera configuration. Lava is expected to equip the Agni 4 with a 7,000mAh battery and price it near Rs 25,000.
