New Pokémon Raids: Unlock Shiny Legends with Global Wins
Join five-star Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet to unlock shiny legendaries. One million global wins needed to claim Mystery Gifts.

The Pokemon Company has announced a limited-time raid event in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet featuring shiny forms of the Treasures of Ruin: Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu. The special five-star Tera raids will span from July through September 2025. However, unlike traditional raid encounters, players cannot catch these shiny Pokemon immediately after defeating them.
The structure of this event requires a community effort. Each shiny version of the Treasures of Ruin will appear during specific windows in the raid rotation. If global players collectively defeat each featured Pokemon one million times before its end date, that Pokemon’s shiny variant will be distributed via Mystery Gift.
Raid Timeline and Tera Types:
* Wo-Chien (Grass Tera Type): July 22, 5 PM PT – August 3, 4:59 PM PT
* Chien-Pao (Ice Tera Type): August 3, 5 PM PT – August 17, 4:59 PM PT
* Ting-Lu (Ground Tera Type): August 17, 5 PM PT – August 31, 4:59 PM PT
* Chi-Yu (Fire Tera Type): August 31, 5 PM PT – September 14, 4:59 PM PT
To join the raids, players need to ensure their game is updated. After accessing the menu with the X button, they should go to the Poke Portal and check for the latest Poke Portal News. Once synced, players can locate event-specific raid dens across Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy.
Although the event raids are capped at five stars, coordination with other players will improve the odds of success. These shiny Treasures of Ruin are expected to pose moderate difficulty levels compared to more intense Tera raid challenges.
If the global player base reaches the one million defeat goal, the shiny versions of the Treasures of Ruin will be distributed. To claim the Mystery Gifts:
* Launch Scarlet or Violet
* Open the menu using X
* Navigate to Poke Portal > Mystery Gift > Get via Internet
* Choose the gift and save the game
Additional bonuses include a 40-piece Tera Shard Set for every 100,000 additional victories beyond the first million.
The company also confirmed these shiny legendaries could return in future distributions or events. The event aligns with the lead-up to the next major franchise release, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which arrives October 16 for Nintendo Switch and its successor. Set in Lumiose City, the game will focus on urban development themes and expanded Pokemon interactions.
