Smartphone manufacturers are crowding the July launch calendar, with notable releases scheduled from OnePlus and Samsung, while a new entrant, AI+, aims to disrupt the entry-level market.
OnePlus will headline a product unveiling on Tuesday, July 8, where the company is expected to introduce the Nord 5 series. Alongside the flagship, OnePlus will also announce the Nord CE 5, the next-generation OnePlus Pad, and OnePlus Buds 4.
Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the Nord 5 is built for performance, featuring 144FPS gameplay on mobile titles like BGMI and Call of Duty Mobile. It also includes vapor cooling for heat management. The CE 5 model is confirmed to house a 7,100mAh battery, while both smartphones are teased to feature a dual rear camera setup. OnePlus is likely to retain 80W charging support, with the pricing expected below Rs 30,000.
Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled for this week, will showcase its latest foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The new Galaxy Watch 8 lineup will also be introduced. In addition, Samsung may announce a more affordable foldable model under the FE branding, possibly powered by the same Exynos chip as the Galaxy S24 series.
Meanwhile, a new AI-first smartphone company, AI+, is set to debut in India with two budget 5G devices—the Pulse and Nova. The launch event is scheduled for July 8 at 12:30 p.m. These devices are expected to start under Rs 5,000 and will run on nxtQ’s NxtQuantum OS. AI+ claims to offer improved camera optimization and data protection through cloud services hosted on MeitY-approved Google Cloud servers within India.
