New Kirby and the Forgotten Land Trailer Reveals Gear Mouth, Sign Mouth for Nintendo Switch 2

A new trailer has officially revealed two new Mouthful Modes for Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World: Gear Mouth and Sign Mouth. This follows an earlier leak and provides a first look at the new abilities.

The Gear Mouth mode allows Kirby to latch onto and roll vertically up walls, while Sign Mouth lets him slide on slopes, spin to attack enemies, and jump high to reach airborne objects. The trailer also highlighted a previously announced ability, Spring Mouth, which lets players bounce to new heights and smash down on enemies.

Beyond the new Mouthful Modes, this updated edition of the game will feature Starry Stages and a new, tougher boss rush called The Ultimate Cup EX. Players can also collect Starry Coins to get figures from the Gotcha Machine EX.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World is scheduled to release on August 28, 2025. It will be available for purchase as a standalone game, and a separate upgrade pack will be offered for those who already own the original on Nintendo Switch.
