Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses to launch soon in India

Meta is expanding the reach of its AI-powered Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses across Europe and has confirmed that India is next on the launch list. On April 23, the tech giant announced that the stylish, voice-activated smart glasses are now available in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
These next-gen glasses come packed with AI features that let users interact hands-free—perfect for multitasking or on-the-go updates. Simply ask the glasses a question, and you’ll get an instant response, no phone needed.
Launch in India Soon – But No Date Yet
While Meta confirmed the glasses will soon be available in India, Mexico, and the UAE, there's still no word on an official launch date or pricing for the Indian market.
What's New?
The latest software update introduces live translation, real-time visual info, and Instagram integration, all designed to enhance everyday convenience.
Live Translation Tool: Speak and understand in English, French, Italian, and Spanish—even without internet, if the language pack is pre-downloaded. Just say, “Hey Meta, start live translation,” and you're set.
Visual Recognition: Starting next week in the EU, the glasses will offer real-time information about what you’re seeing—just by looking.
Instagram on Your Face: Soon, users can message, share photos, and even make audio or video calls directly through the glasses.
Global Rollout, Smarter Features
Originally launched in select countries like France, Italy, Ireland, and Spain in November 2024, Meta’s smart assistant is now expanding its footprint. Until recently, features like visual recognition were limited to the US, Canada, and Australia.
Now, with this broader rollout, Meta aims to redefine how people interact with the digital world—one glance at a time.
