New Delhi: Emphasising the need to align innovation with responsibility, French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday called for a global push to protect children from digital harm, including banning social media access for those under 15, while pitching for an inclusive and sovereign artificial intelligence framework with India. Highlighting child safety as a core concern, Macron said France has begun the process of banning social networks for children under 15 to protect them from AI-driven and digital abuse. Calling India a major global player in artificial intelligence, Macron stressed the need for clear rules governing AI use, shaped collaboratively by trusted partners.
