Apple Inc. has announced a global repair initiative targeting specific batches of its 2023 Mac mini models equipped with the M2 chip, citing an issue that prevents the affected units from powering on.

According to the company, only a limited subset of devices manufactured between June 16, 2024, and November 23, 2024, are impacted. Eligible customers can have their units repaired at no cost through Apple retail outlets or authorized service centers.

Users are advised to verify eligibility by entering their Mac mini’s serial number in the designated tool on Apple’s support website. Devices confirmed as eligible will receive servicing free of charge, regardless of warranty status.

While the repair service applies globally, Apple clarified that in some cases, service may be restricted to the country or region where the device was originally purchased. Users who have relocated internationally should consider this before scheduling a repair.

The program does not alter the standard warranty terms. However, it provides an extended three-year coverage from the original purchase date for affected units, allowing support well beyond the typical one-year warranty or AppleCare+ terms.

Apple’s M2 Mac mini, introduced in 2023, is part of the company's broader shift to in-house silicon. Though Apple has not released technical specifics regarding the power issue, the repair effort suggests a recurring hardware problem has been identified within the production window.

Customers who own a 2023 Mac mini and face power-related problems are encouraged to confirm eligibility immediately.
