Lava Shark 2 India Launch: Budget 4G Phone with AI Camera for Rs 6,999

Lava International has revealed the Shark 2, its new and most affordable smartphone yet, which is meant to draw in customers who want a trustworthy everyday phone but don’t want to spend a fortune. The new device adds to Lava's Shark series, offering a fluid display, AI cameras, and pure Android software among its features.

The Shark 2 replaces the first Shark which was launched earlier this year. Sumit Singh, the head of the product division at Lava International, said, “Shark 2 is a step ahead of our previous 4G models and it also contributes to the developing 4G portfolio of Lava in India.”

The Lava Shark 2 comes with a price tag of Rs 6,999 and has two color choices: Eclipse Grey and Aurora Gold. The phone comes in one configuration only which is 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, that can be expanded with microSD card up to 2TB.

The Shark 2 operates on Android 15 with an uncluttered interface and is equipped with a Unisoc T7250 octa-core processor that is running at 1.8GHz. The handling of graphics is done by Mali-G57 MP1 GPU. The phone has the capability to use two nano-SIMs and a microSD card at the same time.

The smartphone features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD with 120Hz refresh rate that provides smooth visuals for everyday use. The RAM can be increased virtually by another 4GB for better multitasking.

A 50MP AI-based primary camera takes care of the photography which is further backed by two unknown sensors. An 8MP front camera, which is integrated into the display, enables the user to take selfies and attend video calls. The Shark 2 has a side-mounted fingerprint reader for accessing the device.

The smartphone has multiple connectivity options like 4G VoLTE support on both SIM slots, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB-C. The smartphone is powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging via the included charger.
