Indian smartphone maker Lava is set to introduce a new budget 5G handset, the Blaze AMOLED 2, aiming to redefine affordability with premium features. The company teased the phone's design and specifications via social media, showcasing a sleek white model with a flat back panel. The camera system is mounted at the top-left rear, and Lava branding is positioned on the lower-left corner.
The company highlighted that the Blaze AMOLED 2 will be the slimmest smartphone in its category, a key selling point for consumers looking for compact 5G options.
Though the official release date has not been confirmed, industry reports hint at an imminent launch in India. It was initially rumored to arrive alongside the Blaze Dragon 5G by late July.
The Blaze AMOLED 2 is expected to be available in two finishes—Feather White and Midnight Black. The rear will feature a rectangular dual-camera layout with LED flash, enclosed in a marble-finished panel that differentiates it from competitors in the same range. Lava aims to keep the phone under the Rs 15,000 bracket, targeting value-seeking 5G customers.
To support customer satisfaction, Lava will reportedly introduce doorstep service for the device, expanding its after-sales support reach.
The Blaze AMOLED 2 is anticipated to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display offering Full-HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Performance-wise, it will likely be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, coupled with 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM and an additional 6GB of virtual RAM. Storage will reportedly be 128GB of UFS 3.1.
Camera hardware may include a dual-lens setup with a 50MP Sony sensor enhanced by AI capabilities. The smartphone is also expected to include a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging through a USB Type-C port.
Operating on Android 15, the device promises a bloatware-free experience. Additional features are tipped to include an in-display fingerprint reader and face unlock support.
Lava has yet to disclose the official launch timeline, but expectations are high for a rollout in the coming weeks.
