itel’s Rs 1499 Smartwatch Comes with Bluetooth Calling, IP68

itel has expanded its Alpha smartwatch lineup with the launch of two new models — Alpha Edge and Alpha Style — aimed at consumers seeking a balance between durability and essential smart features. Priced at Rs 1,499 and Rs 1,799 respectively, the smartwatches are now available across retail outlets in India.

Both smartwatches carry an IP68 certification, offering protection from dust and water exposure. This enables users to wear them while swimming, trekking, or during daily routines without concern. A notable feature common to both is a detachable protective casing, allowing a quick switch between a minimalist design and a rugged appearance — a first-of-its-kind offering in the Indian smartwatch segment.

The Alpha Edge features a 2.0-inch HD display with a brightness level of 500 nits, ensuring visibility even under direct sunlight. It supports Bluetooth calling, message notifications, and includes over 100 sports modes and 150 watch faces. Health monitoring options such as heart rate, SpO2, and sleep tracking are also built in.

The Alpha Style, catering to those who prefer a round dial, comes equipped with a 1.43-inch AMOLED display delivering 700 nits brightness and a resolution of 466x466 pixels. It supports an always-on display and runs on a single-chip Bluetooth 5.3 system that optimizes battery life while handling calling functions. Like the Edge, it offers 100+ sports tracking modes, multiple watch faces, and health-related features.

Additional functions across both models include music control, weather updates, stopwatch, calculator, game access, and a phone locator tool. A 300mAh battery in each watch provides up to 15 days of standby time.

itel India CEO Arijeet Talapatra emphasized that the brand aims to merge resilience with style. "With Alpha Edge and Alpha Style, users no longer need to compromise between design and endurance. These wearables deliver practicality with an aesthetic that suits various occasions."

The Alpha Edge is offered in Lurex Black and Midnight Blue, while the Alpha Style is available in four shades — Midnight Blue, Lurex Black, Rose Gold, and Champagne Gold. Both variants are sold in premium packaging and come with a one-year warranty.
