Capgemini appoints Sanjay Chalke as the next CEO of its India unit

Bengaluru: Global IT services & consulting firm, Capgemini on Wednesday said thatSanjay Chalke, who is currently India Chief Operating Officer (COO), will become the CEO of Capgemini in India from January 1, 2026.

Current CEO, Ashwin Yardi will be retiring from the Group to become non-executive Chairman of the board of Capgemini in India, effective from January 1, 2026, the company said. Yardi will be retiring after completion of seven years as CEO of Capgemini in India.

As non-executive Chairman, Yardi will focus on nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and will support Sanjay in this transition, while Sanjay will continue to reinforce Capgemini in India as a strategic backbone for client delivery excellence, talent and innovation.

During his leadership, Capgemini in India has seen significant growth, expanding from 105,500 to nearly 180,000 team members.
