After much waiting and teasers one after the other, Motorola has made the Moto X70 Air, a new slim-profile phone, available for purchase in China. The smartphone can now be pre-ordered, and the company has announced its pricing and available models for the local market.
The four circular camera rings and an LED flash next to them were shown in a teaser that Motorola posted recently on its social media channels. The line, "Battery that beats the clock, coming soon," was attached to the post, which made the industry watchers think it was an indirect reference to the upcoming India launch. It is rumored that the same model may be called Motorola Edge 70 when it arrives worldwide, including India.
As per reports, Motorola has a global launch planned for November 5, which will be the first day of selling in chosen countries. Though some regions might get slight changes in the version's look or color, sources say that the hardware and overall styling would be in line with the Chinese variant.
The Moto X70 Air is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, which is supported by up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It has a dual rear camera setup that features a 50MP primary lens along with a 50MP ultra-wide lens. The center of the front is fitted with a 50MP camera for selfies, which is convenient for video calls and portraits.
The phone has a body with IP68 and IP69 ratings which means it is highly resistant to being covered in dust and getting wet. A 4,800mAh battery is installed, and it comes with 68W wired and 15W wireless charging support as backup.
The Moto X70 Air's both models are priced under Rs 35,000 in China, which indicates that the Indian version will probably also be in the range of the same price when it is launched. By providing such a high-quality smartphone at this price point, Motorola is definitely going for the premium mid-range smartphone market segment.
The firm has not yet confirmed the India launch date, but based on the teasers and the pattern of prior releases, the Moto X70 Air (or Edge 70) might make it to Indian retailers shortly after the global launch next month.
