The flagship smartphone of Realme, the GT 7 Pro, has received a price cut just before the new GT 8 Pro is to be unveiled in India. The GT 7 Pro variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, which was launched last year at a price of Rs 59,999, is now priced at Rs 44,999 on Flipkart, thereby offering buyers a huge discount of Rs 15,000. Besides, there are additional bank offers that further lower the price. This decision is taken by the company as part of its stock clearance strategy before the GT 8 Pro launch, which is scheduled for November 20.
The GT 7 Pro has a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO Eco2 OLED Plus display, which is capable of giving a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 6,500 nits. The successor model GT 8 Pro will equip a larger 6.79-inch 2K AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and higher peak brightness of around 7,000 nits, aiming at people who would not mind to pay for the most advanced screen technology.
The GT 7 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, with the option of 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage. The device runs smoothly on Realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15, and this includes everything from running daily apps, extremely intensive gaming, and multitasking. The GT 8 Pro is claimed to adopt the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor featuring 3nm technology that spell out better power efficiency, heat control, and AI-driven photography and gaming support.
Mobile camera technology is one highlight that has massively improved in GT 8 Pro among other areas. The camera in the GT 7 Pro consists of three lenses with 50MP primary sensor with OIS, 8MP ultra-wide and 50MP telephoto with 3x optical and 120x digital zoom. Besides, Realme’s GT 8 Pro brings Ricoh-optimized lenses and their combo consists of 50MP main, 50MP wide and 200MP zoom aiming to win over Samsung, OPPO, and Vivo in terms of the camera quality at the higher end of the market.
Battery capacity is anticipated to be improved as well, thereupon it will be a new feature. The GT 7 Pro packs a mighty 5,800mAh battery with a 120W fast-charging feature, on the other hand, the GT 8 Pro will be in cooperation with a 7,000mAh battery containing the same fast-charging speed which is likely to prolong the device's use on a single battery charge.
For the buyers, who want flagship power for a lower price, the GT 7 Pro is one of the most appealing options. Its display, camera, and hardware are still on par with the competition, and the device has already received three years of major OS updates and four years of security patches making it relevant till 2028.
The GT 8 Pro is the phone for the impatient consumers, as it will bring along the higher display, processing, battery, and camera quality. The new model will, of course, be quite expensive, but it will be targeted to the ones who view the cost of future-proofing and photography performance as more important than the immediate savings.
