Is Gemini Nano Banana the Best for 3D Models? We Compared It with ChatGPT, Qwen, and Grok

The Test Prompt

To compare these AI tools fairly, we used the same detailed prompt:

"Create a 1/7 scale figurine of the characters in the picture, in a realistic style, placed on a computer desk with a transparent acrylic base. The computer screen should display the 3D modeling process, and a collectible-style toy box should be placed nearby with original artwork printed on it."

How the Models Performed

1. Gemini Nano Banana

2. Qwen Image Edit (Alibaba Group)

• Known for precise pixel-level edits and strong handling of textures, lighting, and environments.
• Produced images sharper than Gemini in some cases, but struggled with accurate facial features.

3. ChatGPT (OpenAI, GPT-5)

• Excels at understanding instructions and creative prompts.
• Limitations: slower image generation and a cap of just two images per day for free users.
• Like Qwen, it struggled with realistic faces, but delivered good overall compositions.

4. Grok AI (xAI)
