iQOO has officially confirmed the India launch of its new smartphone, the iQOO 15R, on February 24. Set to go on sale via Amazon, the device packs flagship-grade performance with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a massive 7,600mAh battery and gaming-focused features, targeting young and power users.

iQOO 15R: Launch Details and Positioning

The iQOO 15R is believed to be the India variant of the iQOO Z11 Turbo, which debuted in China recently. Teased by iQOO India CEO Nipun Maurya, the smartphone is positioned as a performance-centric device with a slim profile despite its large battery.

Performance and Gaming Focus

At the core of the iQOO 15R is the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor from Qualcomm, paired with the Supercomputing Chip Q2. The company claims support for up to 144FPS gaming and an AnTuTu score exceeding 3.5 million, underlining its gaming credentials.

Battery, Software and Durability

One of the standout features is the 7,600mAh battery with 100W FlashCharge support. The phone runs OriginOS 6 out of the box and promises four years of OS updates along with six years of security updates. It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

AI Features and Camera Tools

The iQOO 15R comes loaded with AI-powered features, including AI Creation in Notes, AI Captions for real-time transcription, and photography tools such as AI Erase, AI Magic Move and AI Image Expander. The device also integrates Google Gemini and Circle to Search.

Display, Camera and Expected Specs

Leaks suggest the phone will sport a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Camera specifications may include a 200MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP front camera. The handset is expected to arrive in Triumph Silver and Dark Knight colour options.
