iPhone Users Can Now Control Liquid Glass Transparency in iOS 26.1 Beta

The latest iOS 26.1 beta gives iPhone owners the option to customize the Liquid Glass interface transparency. This feature was first launched with iOS 26 in the middle of September and it is exactly that design which was called Liquid Glass that is giving the iPhone a translucent visual effect.

There were some people who applauded the new design for being cool and modern while others complained about the high degree of the reflection to the point of saying that it caused them eye strain. Apple's latest move in the beta builds for developers puts an end to such complaints.

Now there is a switch to toggle between 'Clear' and 'Tinted' Liquid Glass modes. The user can find it in Settings > Display & Brightness > Liquid Glass. The 'Clear' mode retains the initial transparency while 'Tinted' mode gives more opacity which in terns helps contrast and readability to the user. So, every user is the one who decides how the interface will look on his or her device.

As per 9to5Mac's news reports, Apple is also applying this personalization to iPadOS 26.1 and macOS 26.1 currently in testing stage. The public beta release is anticipated soon after developer beta users, while the iOS 26.1 official release is expected in late October or early November.

The iOS 26 was launched on September 15 for iPhone SE (second generation) and later models, starting from the iPhone 17 series, which has this update pre-installed.

At the same time, Apple has just announced the launch of its newly designed MacBook Pro with M5 chip and longer battery life in India. Center Stage, a camera feature introduced along with iPhone 17 Pro, which is aimed at making video calls and virtual meetings better, is also part of the laptop.
