Apple’s upcoming iOS 26 update introduces a feature designed to help users return missed calls without forgetting. The new option, available in the Phone app, allows users to set reminders for callbacks directly from the call history.
The tool appears in the “Recents” tab. When a missed call is listed, swiping left on the entry reveals a blue reminder icon. Tapping it brings up preset options — one hour later, later that night, or the following day. A “Remind Me Later” choice lets users set a custom time and date for greater flexibility.
The reminders sync with the Reminders app and can be repeated, similar to an alarm. This allows regular callers to set recurring notifications, ensuring important follow-ups are not overlooked. Entries can also be edited or moved into custom lists at any time.
Apple has included the feature in the iOS 26 beta, with a wider release scheduled for September alongside the iPhone 17 lineup.
