Apple is preparing to introduce the iPhone 17 series, likely in early September, following its traditional annual release cycle. According to leaks, this year’s lineup might consist of four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max or possibly an "Ultra" variant.
Apple typically unveils its iPhones in the second week of September, with past events held between September 5 and 14 in previous years. If the pattern holds, announcements may occur between September 8 and 10, with pre-orders beginning on September 12 and retail sales starting from September 19.
Reports suggest the iPhone 17 base variant may start at Rs 79,900 in India. In the US, pricing is expected to begin at -$899, while in the UAE, the entry model might launch around AED 3,799. Analysts cite ongoing US-China trade tensions and increased production costs in China as potential drivers for a global price increase.
iPhone 17
The standard model is expected to maintain a similar design to the iPhone 16, with minor upgrades. The device may feature a 24MP front camera, doubling the resolution from earlier 12MP sensors, and continue with a dual-camera rear setup. It’s likely to use the A18 chip and retain 8GB of RAM. A ProMotion display with a 120Hz refresh rate may also be introduced.
iPhone 17 Pro
Expected to run on the A19 Pro chip, this variant could introduce a horizontal triple-camera setup, including a 48MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. Aluminum frames could return, a structural change not seen in Pro models since Apple’s shift to premium stainless steel builds.
iPhone 17 Pro Max
Rumored to be slightly thicker than the previous Pro Max model, possibly to accommodate a 5,000mAh battery (up from 4,676mAh). It may also share the same camera hardware as the Pro, including triple 48MP lenses and a 24MP front camera. Although earlier leaks suggested a smaller Dynamic Island, current insights hint the change might be deferred until 2026.
