Apple’s next flagship, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, is set to debut in September 2025 with its largest battery to date and a host of hardware upgrades, according to industry leaks.
Early reports indicate the Pro Max will house a roughly 5,000 mAh battery—up from 4,676 mAh in its predecessor—resulting in a slightly thicker chassis of about 8.7 mm compared with last year’s 8.25 mm. This increase should push video playback beyond 35 hours, overtaking the current model’s 33-hour maximum.
Under its hood, the device is expected to run on Apple’s new A19 Pro chip, manufactured on TSMC’s 3 nm process, paired with 12 GB of RAM. The upgraded silicon will power advanced AI functions and demanding multitasking. Connectivity enhancements may include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X80 5G modem alongside Apple’s in-house Wi-Fi 7 module. A vapor-chamber cooling solution is rumored to maintain steady performance during prolonged use.
Photography and videography are poised for a boost as well. The rear camera array could retain three 48 MP sensors, but with refined telephoto optics—possibly featuring a Tetraprism lens—to improve zoom clarity and low-light shots. A 24 MP front camera may bring sharper selfies, and 8K video recording support will leverage Apple’s computational imaging suite.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max will likely sport Apple’s ProMotion display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and narrower bezels. Industry insiders suggest new color finishes such as Titanium Blue and Orange will join traditional Black, White, and Purple options. The repositioned Apple logo and reworked rear panel design mark a subtle aesthetic shift.
Pricing is expected to reflect the hardware jump. In the United States, the base Pro Max could start between $1,199 and $1,399, while in India, estimates place it near Rs 1,64,900. Dubai pricing may range from AED 5,099 to 5,399. Apple traditionally unveils its fall lineup in mid-September, with preorders following days later.
