Apple is expected to unveil its next generation of iPhones during the second week of September 2025, with internal sources pointing to a possible launch on September 9 or 10.
The new lineup is anticipated to include four models: the standard iPhone 17, a new variant called iPhone 17 Air, along with the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
All four variants are projected to feature design revisions, performance improvements, and advancements in display quality. Apple may introduce aluminum frames across all models, including Pro versions—marking a shift from the titanium and stainless steel materials used in previous premium iterations. This move indicates Apple might streamline its build approach while focusing on weight reduction and uniform design.
There is also speculation about new color options being made available across select models.
Apple’s product events typically take place soon after Labor Day in the U.S. This year, the holiday falls on September 1, suggesting the following week as the most likely window for the announcement. This timeline is consistent with previous rollouts: iPhone 16 launched on September 9, 2024; iPhone 15 debuted on September 12, 2023; and iPhone 14 was released on September 7, 2022.
According to market leaks, the iPhone 17 Pro Max may be priced near Rs 1,64,990 in India, signaling a potential price increase compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which started at Rs 1,44,900. The pricing surge may be influenced by economic factors such as international trade uncertainties and slower demand in mature markets. However, Apple’s enhanced manufacturing and export capabilities in India could help stabilize prices in the region.
The front-facing camera is expected to receive a resolution upgrade—from 12MP to 24MP—enhancing video calls and selfies. Pro variants may incorporate a trio of 48MP sensors on the rear for wide-angle, ultra-wide, and telephoto photography. Some leaks also indicate a redesigned camera bump with a pill-shaped layout exclusive to the Pro versions.
