Apple’s next big launch is on the horizon, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max tipped to bring major design and performance upgrades. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone 17 series could debut on September 9 or 10, 2025, following Apple’s usual September launch timeline. However, the company has not officially confirmed the date.
Design Changes
One of the most talked-about updates is the horizontal rear camera module, a departure from the vertical setup on the iPhone 16 series. The iPhone 17 Pro Max may also feature a new ceramic shield and an anti-reflective, scratch-resistant nano-texture display, similar to what we’ve seen on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Performance Boost
The Pro Max variant is expected to debut Apple’s A19 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s next-gen 3nm process, alongside 12GB of RAM — the highest ever in an iPhone. This upgrade is aimed at enhancing Apple Intelligence features and overall multitasking performance.
Camera Upgrades
The rear setup may include:
- 48MP telephoto lens with up to 8x optical zoom
- 48MP main wide-angle camera
- 48MP ultra-wide camera
- 8K video recording support
The front camera is also rumored to get a big leap to 24MP for sharper selfies and video calls.
