iPhone 17 Pro Design May Influence Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge in 2026
Leaked Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge dummy models hint at iPhone 17 Pro-inspired design and potential Qi2 magnetic charging adoption in 2026.
Alleged Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge dummy model shows design similarities with the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro, including dual-camera layout and circular cut-out for magnetic charging.

The upcoming iPhone 17 Pro may be another example of how Apple frequently establishes design trends that Android manufacturers swiftly adopt. Leaks suggest that Samsung's Galaxy S26 Edge might incorporate design cues from Apple's flagship, suggesting a potential change in Android's look for 2026.
Android OEMs were quick to release their own versions of the iPhone X's notch when it first came out, with some being bigger, some smaller, and some more basic, like the Essential PH-1's teardrop notch. Similar design cues may now be seen on Samsung devices, especially the Galaxy S26 Edge, as the iPhone 17 series, which is anticipated to launch this September, features a redesigned camera module.
Leaked Samsung Galaxy S26 Dummies Illustrate the Influence of the iPhone 17 Pro
Three purportedly fake Galaxy S26 models—the S26, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra—were made public by well-known leaker Sonny Dickson. The dual-camera setup of the mid-range S26 Edge is notable because it closely resembles the camera module of the leaked iPhone 17 Pro.
The dummies display a circular cut-out in the middle in addition to camera resemblance. It might just be for the location of wireless charging, but it might also be a sign that Samsung is considering implementing the Qi2 magnetic charging standard, which is comparable to Apple's MagSafe, which made its debut with the iPhone 12. As demonstrated by the Pixel 10 series, this feature would enable a broad ecosystem of magnetic wallets, chargers, and other accessories.
If Samsung incorporates these design and magnetic charging features, it would mark a significant move toward unifying premium smartphone design trends across platforms, making Android devices more in line with Apple’s innovations.
