Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 series is expected to launch on September 9, 2025. With just weeks left, new leaks are surfacing about potential changes to pricing and storage. According to a recent leak from a Chinese tipster on Weibo, Apple may increase prices across all iPhone 17 models by $50.
If accurate, the entry-level iPhone 17 could be priced at $849 in the U.S. (approx. Rs 74,000). The iPhone 17 Air might retail at $949 (approx. Rs 83,000). The Pro lineup may see more significant changes. Both the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max could start with 256GB base storage, up from the usual 128GB, and may be priced at $1,049 (Rs 92,000) and $1,249 (Rs 1,09,500), respectively.
The potential price hike is believed to stem from increased component costs and ongoing tariffs on Chinese imports. Though not confirmed officially, similar reports from The Wall Street Journal also point to Apple considering higher pricing for this year's lineup.
The iPhone 17 family is expected to include four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. While the base version may retain a design similar to its predecessor, the Air model could be the slimmest iPhone yet at 5.5mm thickness. The Pro variants are rumored to come with major improvements in design, performance, AI integration, and camera features.
