August saw a flurry of smartphone launches, including Google’s Pixel 10 lineup, Vivo V60, Oppo K13 Turbo, and Infinix GT 30. September is shaping up to be even busier, with Apple, Samsung, and Lava preparing to roll out their latest devices. The month is expected to begin with the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series reveal, followed by Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE and other notable entries.
Apple has yet to officially confirm a date, but the company is expected to hold its annual iPhone launch event in the second week of September. The iPhone 17 lineup will include four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
This generation is rumored to bring a significant design update, with the Pro models adopting a horizontal camera setup and moving away from the titanium-only build for a mixed aluminum-glass design. The iPhone 17 Air is tipped to replace the iPhone 16 Plus, positioned as Apple’s thinnest and lightest model yet.
The standard iPhone 17 is expected to resemble last year’s iPhone 16 but with a faster processor, an upgraded 24MP front-facing camera, and a 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display.
Samsung is likely to introduce the Galaxy S25 FE around mid-September, following its established release cycle for the Fan Edition series. The device is rumored to run on the Exynos 2400 chipset and feature a triple-lens rear camera system, including a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP telephoto camera with optical image stabilization, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.
The Galaxy S25 FE is expected to feature a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 1080x2340 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Battery capacity is expected to increase slightly to 4,900mAh, up from 4,700mAh on the Galaxy S24 FE.
Domestic smartphone maker Lava is preparing to introduce the Agni 4 in September, with early design leaks suggesting a shift to a horizontal camera bar, dropping the secondary display from previous Agni models.
Reports indicate that the Agni 4 will retain its AMOLED display while adopting a MediaTek 8350 processor and a massive 7,000mAh battery, positioning it as one of the largest battery offerings in its segment.
With Apple, Samsung, and Lava all preparing new hardware, September is shaping up to be one of the busiest months of 2025 for smartphone launches.
