iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max: New Lineup Coming Next Month

Apple is all set to unveil its next-generation iPhone 17 series in mid-September, with four models scheduled for release: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Industry analysts point to a uniform $50 price hike across all variants, driven by higher production costs and new tariffs on imported components.

According to an investor note from Jefferies analyst Edison Lee, the base iPhone 17 will start at $849, up from $799, while the iPhone 17 Air, replacing the Plus, will open at $949. The Pro and Pro Max models are expected to begin at $1,199 and $1,299, respectively. Apple’s current iPhone 16 lineup ranges from $799 for the standard model to $1,199 for the Pro Max.

Sources familiar with Apple’s release schedule say the company will host its launch event during the second week of September, with dates under consideration including Sept. 8, 9 or 10. Preorders are likely to begin on Friday, Sept. 12, followed by shipments and in-store sales around Sept. 19.

The iPhone 17 series will debut in six color options, including Black, White and Light Blue, plus two new shades, Green and Purple, revealed in recent dummy-unit photos shared by noted leaker Majin Bu.

On the hardware side, the Pro and Pro Max models are set to introduce a redesigned camera module featuring an 8× optical zoom lens for improved long-range photography. Those models will also gain dual shutter buttons to support multiple shooting modes, replacing last year’s single-button design.

For consumers and retailers, the uniform price increase follows two years of stable pricing.
