Apple’s iPhone 16 is seeing a fresh round of price cuts on Amazon as anticipation builds for the iPhone 17 reveal at Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event scheduled for September 9. The limited-time deal slashes costs for buyers through a combination of direct discounts, exchange offers, and bank card benefits.
The iPhone 16 with 128 GB storage in black is listed at Rs 79,900, but Amazon is offering a 12 per cent markdown, lowering the price to Rs 69,999. Customers trading in an iPhone 15 in good condition can reduce the amount further by up to Rs 31,250, bringing the effective cost down to Rs 38,749.
Buyers using an Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card can unlock an additional reduction of up to Rs 3,499. After applying all discounts and exchange credits, the total price can drop as low as Rs 35,250.
The iPhone 16 is equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED display, featuring a resolution of 2556x1179 pixels at 460 pixels per inch. It holds an IP68 rating for resistance against dust, splashes, and water exposure.
The camera system includes a 48-megapixel Fusion camera with a 2x telephoto lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 12-megapixel TrueDepth front camera with an f/1.9 aperture. Apple has built in features for spatial photography and video capture, while new editing tools like Audio Mix allow users to fine-tune sound recordings.
The iPhone 16 runs on the A18 Bionic processor, built on a second-generation 3-nanometer process. Its 6-core CPU delivers a 30% speed increase compared to the A16 chip, and its 16-core Neural Engine is designed to handle large machine learning models at double the speed of the previous generation.
The device ships with iOS 18, which integrates Apple Intelligence, a set of AI-powered tools. Users will be able to rewrite, summarize, and proofread text in system and third-party apps, record and transcribe audio in Notes and Phone, and generate conversation summaries post-call. The rollout for Apple Intelligence begins next month in select regions, initially supporting U.S. English.
