Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 17 series tonight at its “Awe Dropping” event, alongside iOS 26, the latest operating system for iPhones and iPads. The company promises major design changes and new functionalities for users.
First announced at WWDC 2025, iOS 26 introduces a new visual language called Liquid Glass, which uses translucent materials to reflect and refract surroundings. This redesign aims to enhance navigation, app interaction, and user experience.
The standout aspect of iOS 26 is its visual overhaul. Menus, notifications, Control Center, and default apps including Messages, Camera, and Phone receive a refreshed look. Users will notice dynamic lock screen widgets that adjust size based on wallpaper and spatial effects that create a sense of depth as the device moves. The home screen now allows icon customization, including translucent effects.
Other notable additions include a redesigned Camera app, live translation powered by Apple Intelligence, AI-generated call summaries, a dedicated Games app, and improvements to Visual Intelligence.

Apple has confirmed that iOS 26 will be compatible with iPhones equipped with the A13 chip or newer. Older models like iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max are expected to miss the new Liquid Glass design. Devices confirmed for the update include:
