iOS 26 Beta 6 Brings New Ringtones, Faster App Launches, and Camera App Reversal
Apple’s iOS 26 Beta 6 adds new ringtones, faster app launches, Camera app swipe reversal, Liquid Glass refinements, and a fresh onboarding experience.
iOS 26 Beta 6 introduces new ringtones, speedier app animations, and restores the original Camera app swipe direction.

Apple has rolled out the sixth developer beta of iOS 26, alongside updates for iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, and macOS. With the public launch expected in September, the latest beta focuses on refinements rather than major overhauls — but it still delivers some notable surprises.
New Ringtones to Try
Beta 6 introduces six new ringtones, all variations of the classic “Reflection” tone. One in particular, dubbed “Dreamer”, is already gaining buzz on social media for being “crazy good” and “such a bop,” prompting some users to take their phones out of silent mode for the first time in years.
Camera App Controversy Resolved
Apple has officially reversed its earlier Camera mode swipe direction change. In previous betas, the updated gesture had frustrated users by breaking long-standing muscle memory. While Beta 5 introduced a Settings toggle to restore the “Classic Mode,” Beta 6 removes that option entirely and restores the original scroll direction — aligning the Camera app with other native Apple apps.
Faster App Transitions & Liquid Glass Tweaks
Users will notice snappier app launches with new open and close animations, giving iOS a smoother, more responsive feel. The Liquid Glass interface — Apple’s translucent, magnifying glass-like design — has been refined with improved readability, more “glassiness,” and enhanced color dispersion when switching between tabs. Lock Screen elements and toggles also get the Liquid Glass treatment.
New Onboarding Experience
After updating, users are greeted with a refreshed startup and onboarding flow showcasing iOS 26’s key changes, including redesigned icons, interface tweaks, and the Liquid Glass effect.
Performance & Stability
Early testers report that Beta 6 feels more stable and faster than previous releases. As always with beta versions, bug fixes are included — but new issues may emerge as development continues. Public beta users can expect a similar update soon.
