Instagram to Let Users Reorder Feed, Post Quietly & Share Spotify Tracks in Notes

Instagram is introducing a wave of new features designed to give creators more control, reduce posting pressure, and spark creativity. The Meta-owned platform will soon allow users to reorder their feed, post content quietly without broadcasting it to everyone, and share Spotify tracks in Notes.

Quiet Posting Mode: Users will soon be able to post on their profile without the content appearing in followers’ feeds — ideal for testing content or avoiding visibility pressure.

Feed Reordering: Instagram is testing a feature that lets users customize how their posts appear on their profile grid, giving creators better control over storytelling and brand curation.

Trial Reels Expansion: First launched in December 2024, Trial Reels are now being rolled out to all creators. These Reels only show up for non-followers, helping creators experiment with new formats, styles, or genres. Metrics (likes, views, shares) are shown after 24 hours to reduce performance anxiety.

According to Instagram, 80% of creators using Trial Reels saw increased reach from non-followers, and 40% began posting more often.

Spotify in Notes: Users can now share what they’re listening to on Spotify via Instagram Notes, allowing for deeper, music-based social interaction with friends and followers.

New Font from Rosalia: A handwriting-inspired font from Catalan pop artist Rosalía is being added to Stories and Reels for expressive visual storytelling.

Support for Emerging Creators: Instagram’s new Drafts initiative will provide funding, resources, and collaboration opportunities for rising artists like Tyrell Hampton and the Young Emperors.
