Instagram faces Global Outage, Users Report Message and Feed Errors

Instagram users globally are face concerns with the app, with thousands reporting Instagram Down. The common issues counterparts with loading feeds, sending messages, and accessing Dm’s. The outage on the Meta-owned app begins on Wednesday in the morning around 8:45 AM.

With more than 10,000 complaints logged on Downdetector, an actual time monitoring site. Downdetector showed a pointed spike in issues reported by users. Only in India, hundreds of users reported problems, with more than 80% facing issues with the mobile app and 12% stressed with the website. Around 4% reported lock issues with their feeds, and timelines were stacked.

Users took to X to share memes and jokes about the Instagram outage, with #InstagramDown trending. Some of the users have reported being unable to access the app, while others faced problems using the features.

One user wrote on Meta Instagram outage, "Around two hours ago, my message page didn't show any messages at all, even though I have plenty, and I got two notifications earlier".

Another user post "My messages, my contacts on Instagram, I can't use the search tool or even scroll up! The whole thing is just broken right now".

Downdetector Instagram report by a user "In my MacBook, Instagram isn't loading in the webpage today. I use it every day. It works today. It's not even loading. Everything else is working fine. YouTube, Snapchat, and Spotify".

On Downdetector, more than 10,000 reports have been registered from the US, with a heat map showing concerns reported from places such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, Phoenix, and New York. About 200 reports came from the UK.

Meta, Instagram's parent corporation, has not issued an official statement or justification for the outage despite more complaints.
