Xiaomi has started the distribution of the new HyperOS 3 update in India for various smartphones and tablets. The update not only makes the Android 16 available for more devices beyond the Xiaomi 17 series, which was presented during the September 2025 launch event, but also includes more.
Xiaomi’s update also brings a bunch of AI-powered tools for writing and editing and redesigned widgets and smoother animations that are meant to make interacting with the device a bit more fun and easy.
The Associate Director of Marketing and PR at Xiaomi India, Sandeep Sarma, revealed that very soon the new Android 16-based HyperOS 3 firmware would be available for devices like the Xiaomi 14, Pad 7, Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi 13, Poco F7, and Poco M7 Pro 5G. The update can be checked by the users in the following way: Go to Settings > My Device > HyperOS banner > Check for update. If the device is eligible, it will show the Download and Install Update option and may reboot multiple times during the installation process.
HyperOS 3 also introduces the HyperIsland interface, a notification bar that resembles Apple’s Dynamic Island in shape and provides quick access to live alerts, activity updates, and charging speed at a glance. Besides, Xiaomi has started a “dual-island” layout that enables the users to control apps and tasks without changing screens. What’s more, the update brings the dynamic wallpapers and cinematic lock screens made from still images.
The roll-out of the new software package thus brings with it the HyperAI/Xiaomi HyperAI suite, which is comprised of AI-powered writing and productivity tools. A combination of screen recognition and DeepThink mode allows for the modification of text message and emails’ tone or style. AI Speed Recognition is among the other features that HyperOS 3 supports, which includes real-time audio transcription, audio quality enhancement, and summarization of recordings.
