Xiaomi announced HyperOS 3, its new software version based on Android 16, at a launch event in China on Wednesday. The company has now joined Google, Samsung, and Nothing, which have already revealed or begun rolling out Android 16.
HyperOS 3 introduces several upgrades to Xiaomi devices. A major addition is HyperIsland, a display feature at the notch area that shows real-time updates such as charging speed and ongoing activities, similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island.
Artificial intelligence tools form a key part of the update. Hyper AI includes writing assistants that can modify tone and style, along with real-time speech recognition that records, transcribes, and generates summaries. The photo gallery now uses AI to improve search, including filters for categories such as food. Users also gain access to new lockscreen options and dynamic wallpapers.
The update will begin in October. Devices like the Xiaomi 15T series, Watch S4, and Smart Band 10 will ship with HyperOS 3 pre-installed.
Phones set to receive the update via over-the-air rollout in October and November are:
* Xiaomi 15 series
* Xiaomi Mix Flip
* Redmi Note 14 series
* Poco F7 series
* Poco X7 series
The company confirmed that more devices will be updated between late 2025 and March 2026. The list includes the Xiaomi 13 series, Redmi Pad Pro 5G, and additional Redmi Note 14 models.
