A new AI art trend that is playful and fun has become the most talked-about issue on social media, with users of the technique making isometric 3D cube scenes with their tiny, chibi-style avatars in the middle of cozy, very detailed rooms. The images have been largely attributed to the work of Nano Banana Pro, and they appear like collectible display pieces or glowing diorama lamps. Generative AI can produce them in just a few minutes.
The trend has been embraced by both tech-savvy and artistic creators, particularly on X, where users are regularly posting their tiny cube worlds with soft lighting, lifelike textures and added personal touches. The attraction is that it gives the viewer a choice between imagining the characters as actual little people and enjoying their toy-like cuteness, with the characters designed as if made of matte PVC with oversized heads and tiny bodies.
Nano Banana Pro fuels the trend
The trend received a major boost after AI creator Nano Banana Pro shared a ready-made prompt, encouraging users to experiment with the style. According to the creator, the idea is to design “cute little diorama lamps” by focusing on enclosed cube compositions, soft internal lighting and subtle imperfections such as dust or scratches that add a lifelike touch.
The prompt allows users to describe a subject, their activity and the setting, which the AI then transforms into a polished isometric 3D cube scene filled with tiny decorative elements.
Community-inspired prompts
In a follow-up post, Nano Banana Pro credited X user @Arminn_Ai for inspiring the prompt structure. Earlier this month, @Arminn_Ai shared examples of miniature 3D rooms and invited users to upload photos to generate personalised figurine-style scenes.
@Arminn_Ai’s version of the prompt goes deeper into world-building, asking for detailed descriptions of room layout, décor and lighting. It also emphasises keeping all elements strictly within the cube and maintaining a clean, slightly elevated isometric viewpoint for a true diorama effect.
Why the trend is resonating
Much like the earlier Chibi and Ghibli-style trends, these cube dioramas tap into nostalgia, creativity and self-expression. The images resemble dollhouses, desk toys or decorative lamps, while showcasing how advanced text-to-image AI tools have become.
By combining personal photos with well-crafted prompts, users can now create professional-looking 3D-style visuals without specialised software or technical expertise—turning simple selfies into collectible digital art.
