Apple’s upcoming September 9 “Awe Dropping” event is set to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup, alongside other major product announcements. Market analysts indicate that U.S. pricing for most models may remain at current levels, with only one version expected to see a price change.

J.P. Morgan’s Samik Chatterjee has projected pricing for four iPhone 17 variants, according to a report by 9to5Mac. The analyst expects Apple to hold prices steady for most models while adjusting the entry point of the iPhone 17 Pro.

The iPhone 17 family is anticipated to include the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Pricing estimates are as follows:

* iPhone 17: Expected at $799, matching last year’s iPhone 16.

* iPhone 17 Air: Estimated between $899 and $949, a possible $50 increase over the iPhone 16 Plus.

* iPhone 17 Pro: Likely to begin at $1,099, $100 higher than the previous Pro model.

* iPhone 17 Pro Max: Forecast to stay at $1,199, unchanged from last year.

If these projections hold, the Pro model will exceed the $999 starting point for the first time since 2017. However, this increase is tied to Apple dropping the 128GB variant, with the iPhone 17 Pro expected to launch with 256GB of base storage.

Apple has maintained stable U.S. pricing for the last two iPhone generations. Both iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 models debuted at $799 for the base version, $899 for the Plus, $999 for the Pro, and $1,199 for the Pro Max.

While U.S. pricing stability continues, Indian buyers have faced higher retail prices. The iPhone 16 started at Rs 79,900, while the Pro Max was introduced at Rs 1,44,900. Apple’s pricing strategy for the iPhone 17 series in India is yet to be confirmed.
