The Honor X7c 5G is a device that offers the pros and cons of a premium vegan-leather design and a vivacious Full HD+ screen but at the same time drawbacks like outdated hardware and camera catches.

The X7c 5G comes from Honor which had its premier in August and is aimed at mid-range customers who appreciate its luxury look and large display. After several months of using the phone as a daily driver, it still manages to impress with its looks but is still not solid enough to give competition to the rivals.

Design

One of the most striking features of the X7c 5G is its back panel made of vegan leather that is accentuated by a textured criss-cross pattern. The colors offered for the phone are Forest Green, Midnight Black, and Moonlight White, and it feels nice and secure in your hand. There is a square shape of the camera on the back side while the right side of the phone contains the volume up/down buttons and the fingerprint sensor lock key. The bottom side of the phone has a 3.5mm audio jack, loudspeaker, and mic.

Display & Audio

The mobile device features a 6.8-inch Full HD+ LCD panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a maximum brightness of 850 nits which provides excellent visibility for the user even in very bright outdoor conditions. Still, the phone's single speaker is not very clear at all and it is advisable to use TWS buds for audio and video viewing.

Software Experience

Running Android 14-based MagicOS 8.0, the X7c hasn’t received a major Android update yet, even as rivals ship with Android 16. The interface includes several preloaded apps and frequent permission prompts that disrupt the user experience.

Performance & Battery

The phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (2023) chipset and Adreno 613 GPU that together make it capable to perform daily tasks but not without the trade-off of slowing down during busy usage or gaming sessions. The 5,200 mAh battery of the smartphone lasts a whole day when used moderately but Honor does not provide a charger in the package.

Camera

The rear setup includes a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor, with a 5MP front camera. While daylight photos are usable, low-light performance suffers heavy noise and grain, offering little improvement over older budget models.

Verdict

The most compelling aspect of the Honor X7c 5G, which costs approximately ₹15,000, is its screen. It has an outdated performance, unimpressive cameras, and no charger included, which makes it very difficult for it to compete in the already crowded mid-range segment.
