Finnish startup Human Mobile Devices (HMD) introduced its new 4G-enabled hybrid smartphone, the HMD Touch 4G, in India on Tuesday. The device is aimed at students, young professionals, and blue-collar users, while being priced at the level of a feature phone.
The HMD Touch 4G comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, cloud-based applications, and an SOS ICE (In Case of Emergency) key designed for rapid access to emergency contacts. The key can be activated with three short presses or a long press to avoid accidental triggering.
For communication, the phone allows video calling and instant messaging through the Express Chat app, which is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. The app supports 13 languages, and the device also provides Wi-Fi connectivity along with hotspot sharing for data.
In terms of photography, the HMD Touch 4G is equipped with a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front camera, suitable for basic photo and video requirements. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, and the device is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery with Type-C charging support.
Additional features include wireless and wired FM radio, an MP3 player, auto call recording with folder management, and a protective jelly cover. The interface has been designed for simple and intuitive touch navigation.
HMD stated that the Touch 4G will be available for Rs 3,999 starting October 9, 2025. It can be purchased through leading retail stores, top e-commerce platforms, and HMD’s official outlets. The phone will be offered in Cyan and Dark Blue color options.
